Photography

My camera collection is quite random. I was given a small Canon IXUS from a friend which I used a bit, otherwise have just invested in a cheap second-hand Panasonic Lumix waterproof camera. Nothing special to note there. Here’s some more about the others…

I have a LOMO-LCA which I bought many years ago and used a lot when I lived in Barcelona. I think it’s still working – I have a film in there at the minute and will post any decent photos which come from that. All my old photos from that time are in albums. I was at the FNAC photo counter in Plaza Cataluña so often then that the staff new my by name. It was always there at parties with its partner in crime – the colorsplash flash.

A friend who used to work for an airline once kindly gave me a Minolta X700 and a massive lens which had been left on a plane. Whilst I feel terrible for its previous owner, I hope the fact that I’ve had loads of use from it over the years kind of makes up for it.

My most-travelled camera would be my Minoltina P. This is a lovely little camera which is unpretencious and small enough to fit into a handbag. Not the lightest of cameras, it’s been an amazing companion in places where you wouldn’t want to be too flashy, and is always reliable and can produce lovely photos of all kinds of subjects.

Last but not least in my Digital Harinezumi, aka the spy camera. Bought after seeing a mate enjoying his so much, this camera has also clocked up many miles. At some point I dropped it and it seems to be stuck in macro mode, which is a huge shame if that’s the case. It’s on my list to dig out all the paraphenalia so I can test to see if it’s still working at all, after having been abandoned for a few years.

Am hoping to get some photos up here soon. In the meantime you can look at my Flickr page by clicking here, or on the Flickr button at the bottom.
