A little gallery of some of my prints…
(*I can’t take credit for the bottom left or the top right prints – these were presents)
I think it was around 2010 when for some reason I remembered lino printing I’d done in school and went to buy myself a kit. I get petrified when faced with a blank sheet of paper, but the idea of getting lots of prints from just one design, and also that this design didn’t need to be complicated, appealed to me a lot.
I can’t remember what my first designs were, but since then I’ve gone on to do lots of printing courses. At the Volkshochschule in Berlin I did a course in screenprinting which I really enjoyed. I also hired a table a few times at the Siebdruckwerkstatt Neukölln, around the corner from my flat to do some of my own printing.
Since moving to Bristol I have done a workshop in two-colour lino printing, a mono-printing day course and have been to a print-club at a pub in Easton several times. At the moment we’re doing an online Print Club which works really well – the organiser Ella very kindly sorted out a big bag for each of us with all the materials we could possibly need for the 6-week course.
As you can see I have a bit of a thing for leaves and plants. A couple of years ago I did a great course at the Folk House where we used different methods (screenprinting, stencils, lino printing) to create designs inspired by botanical patterns. It was great fun, and was really pleased with some of the results!

Birds – Stencil
Succulent – Lino and watercolours
Leaves – Stencil
Woods – Monoprinting
Skogsstärna – Screenprinting
Circles and leaves – Monoprinting

Christmas Cards
Over the years I’ve also done a fair few Christmas cards. It’s got to the point now that I really struggle for ideas…
Leaves and plants
Using simple designs I’ve tried different patterns, layers and background colours to see what different effects are possible. I’d like to work on a larger, more intricate design soon. I’ve bought an A5-sized piece of lino, so need to get working on a design…
Print Club
At print club we’ve used different techniques… clay printing, working with photos, DIY letterpress with stencils
